Presenting and Listening

Today in West Civ class we presented our presentation powerpoints we had been working on! My group was up first since we talked about the parents and we did a solid job. Our group talked about the parents, Olympia (the mother), King Phillip 2 (father), and Zeus (godly father). I know enough about this subject since my group presented it so I will go onto other notes.
Notes:

  • King Phillip loved body guard and he got jealous and was killed by him
  • Persians paid body guard a lot of money to kill the king
  • Olympias and Alexander planned the killing of the king because they did not like him because he was thinking of not giving Alexander the throne
  • Alexander took over in 334 BC at age of 20
  • His first act was to execute all who had a threat to his seat on the throne
                                                        Education

  • He was first taught by Leonidus
  • Tried teaching Alexander horsemanship, archery, and skills valuable to life
  • Hr would not listen because he was being a brat
  • Then his father hired Aristotle
  • He was taught politics, drama. poetry, science, and poetry
  • Illiad was his favorite book and he took it with him every single place he went, wars and all
  • Bucephellus was a horse no one could tame, but humungous so he tamed him by himself at age 13
